Winter Hair Flowers and Flower Girl Pieces
Small ivory blossoms that hold through a winter day: hair vines and pins for the bride, and a ribbon-tied clay crown made at a flower girl's scale.

Winter hair has one enemy a bride cannot schedule around: the wind between the door and the car.
Fresh hair flowers face a hard day in December: cold air, indoor heating, hugs, a veil going on and coming off. Small clay pieces were made for exactly this day. They are light, they are sturdy, they hold their shape through all of it, and at the end of the evening they look the way they looked at the first look.
For the bride: vines and pins in ivory
Winter hairstyles are often more structured than summer's, smooth buns, polished waves, a style built to survive weather. A clay hair vine in ivory blossoms, with pearl sprigs woven through it, wraps a bun or follows a part line with a softness that reads as frost, in the best sense. Pins place single blossoms where the style asks for them, and nothing more.
Because the pieces are clay, they can be tried at the hair trial weeks ahead, in their final form. No guessing how a fresh bloom will sit on the day. Your stylist can pin, adjust, and photograph the finished arrangement, and on the wedding morning the same pieces go back into the same places. In a season of weather surprises, the hair is one thing that has already been decided.
For the flower girl: a crown at her scale
The flower girl's crown is the set's smallest piece and its most considered. Small ivory blossoms on a light base, tied with satin ribbon so it adjusts to a small head and stays comfortable through a long, exciting day. It is made to a child's scale, not shrunk from an adult's design. The proportions of the blossoms themselves are smaller, so it sits like it belongs to her.
Picture her in the photographs years later, and picture the crown itself, kept in its box, exactly the size of the head that wore it. Clay keeps that. Fresh flowers cannot.
Worn once, kept always
Hair flowers live a double life: worn for one day, kept for decades. They go into the shadow box, onto the dressing table, into the box of wedding things that is opened on anniversaries. It is a small piece to carry so much of a day in it, which is exactly why I make it slowly.
If winter hair flowers belong in your wedding, I would love to make them in your colors. Begin a custom order and tell me your date and your hairstyle plans.
